Teen Driving Tips from Michelin
One of the greatest fears for parents of teenagers is an unexpected accident when their child is behind the wheel. Each year, the days between Memorial Day and Labor Day are the deadliest 100 days for teen drivers and their passengers, according to the American Automobile Association (AAA). To minimize this risk, parents should learn the facts and teach their children how to drive safely.
Taking Sponsors for the Not just Cloth & Pins, Cloth Diaper Event
I have been cloth diapering for about 5 - 6 months now and I love it. It still surprises me how many moms out there don't know that cloth diapers are more than just cloth and pins. I would love to host a review and giveaway showing off some different types of cloth and give others the opportunity to win some for their own stash. If you are a cloth diaper maker, or maker of things cloth diaper related and want to include them in this event, Please contact me via the Contact Me tab to the left.

DownEast Basics Review & Giveaway!
I have to start by saying, I had never heard of DownEast Basics before. I am not sure why, the styles are just right and the cost is perfect for any budget. I was able to pick out 1 garment for my review, so as I looked through the catalog, I was torn between a few different pieces. The Turn Back Time Tunic, Dream Girl Dress or the Levels Skirt.

Knowing my style and what I would actually wear the most, I ended up choosing the Turn Back Time Tunic in Navy and White. I usually wear a size 16 so I wasn't sure I would be able to fit into these clothes, but was pleasantly surprised that they size from an xx small to an xx large. Yay!
This shirt Retails for only $24.99.
When I got the shirt in the mail, I tried it on over a white cami tank and jeans I was wearing. I loved it, the only complaint I have is that the braided jersey knit tie belt was not at my waist as I would have liked it to be, however it is removable and can be worn with or without the belt. Within five minutes of having the shirt the little white "belt loops" broke off, which was fine for me because now I can wear the belt where I please. The shirt is not damaged in anyway. This top is very comfortable, cool and very stylish!
If you are a busy mommy like me, who seemingly has no time to keep up with the latest fashion trends, you will appreciate that DownEast Basics has put together a collection of the

Turpentine Creek Wildlife Refuge
I thought that my visit to the library with the girls was going to be uneventful, but was gladly surprised when we pulled up and saw this...
this is the best picture I could get of this beautiful tiger, there were actually two of them.
Turpentine Creek Wildlife Refuge has been traveling the local libraries to speak about their work and collecting donations for their cause. We watched a short video about how they save and take in tigers, lions and bears, allowing them to live a healthy and more normal life. It was sad to hear how some of the animals were made to live previously, seeing pictures of their unkempt living and how skinny they were. After being at Turpentine Creek Wildlife Refuge, the animals have become healthy and beautiful again. As you could imagine the expenses of building space for these animals, feedings and medicating them are quite high. If you were as moved as I was, you could either donate money or shop at the online store to help out this awesome cause.
After listening to the speakers talk about what they do on a day to day basis to take care of these large animals, they took questions. My five year old was so eager to ask her questions, she whispered to me, "mommy, can I ask if they have whales?" being that we live in the midwest I knew that this answer was no, so I encouraged her to think of another question. So she said "mommy, can I ask how many animals they have helped" I said, "yes baby, that's a great question" She jumped up and raised her hand, asked her question and the answer the lady gave was that they currently have over 120 animals in their care now, and have rescued over 400+. The girl we were talking to was raised around the cats, her grandmother started the refuge a long time ago. What an exciting life!
Kolcraft's 65th Anniversary
Being a Kolcraft Mom, I am given front line information, from new products to exciting sweepstakes, this one I have to share with you, Kolcraft is celebrating 65 years of serving families. They are super excited because they are the only baby gear & crib mattress manufacturer that has been family owned & has never “changed hands.” It makes a big impact on their decisions & how they conduct business because they view things through a family lens & not a big corporate lens. They want to celebrate their anniversary with their consumers so they launched a 65th anniversary website http://www.kolcraft.com/65- anniversary/. Included on the site is a Sweepstakes page. Every 6 weeks a new sweepstakes will be up bringing the prizes to thousands of dollars. Their family of brands is celebrating with them & they kick off the Sweepstakes with their Jeep Family on the Go package. They will also have baby & family prizes from Sesame Street, Contours, Kolcraft & Sealy (this package includes a new adult Sealy mattress!). I know I will be entering!! So go check this out and get entered too! I would love you to come back and let me know if you won something.

KD Novelties Review & Giveaway

Gender
First Name
Middle Name (optional)
Last Name
Age (optional)
Hometown/State
1st friend/relative
2nd friend/relative
3rd friend/relative
Dedication (max 75 characters)
Being that my little girl is not in school yet and doesn't have any little kids she is "friends" with, I had the First name be my 5 year old, the 1st friend be my baby, and friend 2 and 3 I let my eldest pick her favorite Princess names out and thats who is now in the story with her.
The story she chose to send me is a Loony Tunes book called Off to See the Wizard, and is very much like Wizard of Oz. The pictures are very vibrent and interesting, and the words were printed right on top of a lighter picture. This looks like a book I would buy at a Barnes and Noble, except, it has my girls names in it. My daughter just loves reading this story and wants me to read it every night for bedtime, it makes her feel like she is in this fairy tale with her baby sister, Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty. I would definitly refer this as a great gift option and will be getting a special book for my baby to have as well.
KD Novelties has many different stories to chose from, a couple others I really like are The Ballerina Princess, ABC and Me on Seseme Street and many, many more. Even better, these books only cost $11.95 & up. Check them out on Facebook for great discount and current offer information, Here.
I am excited to be able to be one of the few bloggers to review AND give 1 of my readers their very own personalized Loony Tunes: Off to See The Wizard book, valued @ $14.95

Getting into the swing of things
I wanted to start off by apologizing for the lack of new posts on my page. I find it interesting that most big companies require at least 6 months of blogging before allowing a review on a site. I now understand why, for me at least, its like hitting a wall. Writing reviews and hosting giveaways take a lot of time, not only getting through to someone who wants to work with you but actually taking the time to write honest reviews and getting the buzz out about the giveaway. I love blogging though, and absolutely love working with different companies on reviews and giveaways.
ALSO-
Dealing without air conditioning in the house or cars is really rough. It is hard to sit in front of the computer and get really honest about writing when you are sweating bullets in the 100+ degree weather. My primary goal has been keeping my girls cool and safe, so I have been out almost all day and into the late evenings. I have decided I need to keep up on my blog if I am going to pass the 6 month mark and "make it big" (lol). Even if it means waiting until late in the night when it has cooled down a little more.
SO-
I wanted to share with you a little something special about my day today.
I was out with my family driving (trying to get somewhere cool) when I saw what looked like a bunny hopping down the road

I wanted to share with you a little something special about my day today.
I was out with my family driving (trying to get somewhere cool) when I saw what looked like a bunny hopping down the road
But as we got closer, I could see that it was a tiny fawn. It had the road stopped up because it was slowly running down the road straight to us. Then it stopped at the driver side door so I got out and took this picture...
Then I walked towards her, so she would run away from the road and into the bushes.
As we were all slowly driving, the driver that was on the other side of the road mentioned seeing another baby lying on the side of the road peeking his head up. We drove a few feet further and I saw this...
I was trying to figure out how to get some water to her, but she ended up getting up and hiding in the bushes a little further off the road. I ended up calling Animal Control and informing them off these sweet babies. I just hope they have made it to safety. They were so little, I would bet they were less than a week old and it looked like they lost their mom.
Are you someone who jumps out to an animals safety? or Are you someone who just waits for them to get our of your way?

Tommee Tippee UPDATE!
UPDATE!
A while back I did a review for Tommee Tippee Explora Li'l Sippee Sipper Cup. My baby at the time would have been about 6 months old, and trying her on the sippy cup was very unsuccessful. Now, at 11 months and 2 weeks old, she has taken to the Tommee Tippee Explora Li'l Sippee Sipper Cup, and doesn't want to put it down. She loves feeling on the little bump detail around the rim of it, can't stop shoving her little finger into the mouth piece and would drink water all day and night out of it. At her age, we are starting with water in it only, and I am glad to say that it only spills when she shoves her little finger into the nipple part of the cup and dumps it. Now, with her drinking so much water I need to start changing her more often, but with this heat, it is great to know she is not dehydrated. Thank You again, Tommee Tippee for being my little girls first sippee cup!
