There is nothing like learning by experience. There is nothing like being thrown into a situation blindfolded and sinking or swimming. That is exactly what happened to me when I began work in the IT department of a prestigious financial company. My experiences and degrees did have some initial effect on the chaos they called operations. It kept me from freaking out totally. I had made some great relationships over the years and learned a lot about the services being offered by companies. I spent the majority of the first three days creating an inventory of the issues and area of improvement. Then I logged onto www.t1internet.net and studied the competitive rates and security they offered for a company such as this. I do believe once this insanity is sorted out that I will ask for an increase in bonus since the VP down played the dire straits of the situation so greatly. Lucky for him, I met the challenge head on and see the success of the company as a direct reflection on my ability to handle the immense overhaul. That should put a smile on everyone’s face.
