40 Years of Marriage

My parents just had their 40th wedding anniversary. I am so proud to say that I am raised by both my father and mother who are still married. I wish I could provide the same thing for my girls but as life will have it, I can not. For this grand celebration my Sisters, Aunt and I are having a huge anniversary party for my parents with relatives and friends at one of the local parks. We are BBQing, playing games, and playing some Oldies Songs to remind my parents of the time they got married. I will be sharing some pictures of how this turns out, because I think we have come up with some really creative ideas for throwing a fabulous party on a budget.
This being one of our families first outdoor parties in a long time, we included some outdoor games to keep the party moving. Since this is the 40th wedding anniversary we are making a box that is decorated with the words "40 Reasons we love you" on it and my Sisters, Aunt and I are going to write out different memories and personal sayings to put in the box for my parents to read. We are also passing out index cards for the guests to add their own reasons to put in the box. We have created signs to post up around the park area that everyone can pose for pictures, then we can put together a Snapfish photo book with not only the pictures but include the index cards in the book to make a great keepsake for my parents.

Stay Tuned for more about the party ideas and how this turned out. .. with pictures :)

Wordless Wednesday: Kindergarten Celebration

My little girl is growing up so fast. She is going to be a first grader next fall and I can hardly believe it. I threw her a surprise "party" after she got off the bus on Monday *their last day* which included just 3 people :) I wrapped up a couple of presents and decorated with streamers and balloons. I picked up a select few personalized cupcakes that looked and smelled really yummy. An orange cream cupcake, a boston cream pie cupcake, her special cookies and cream cupcake and two mini cupcakes, 1 blueberry and 1 lemon. I made my carb free pancakes to eat while they were devouring these yummy treats.
 Look how adorable it is!!

For dinner I picked up a Papa Murphy's Mini Murph, kids build your own pizza. She loved it!
